Introduced and led s come, n NiOzN UI UI CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department May 14, 1986 To the Municipal Officers: Reference is made to City Council Order No. 84-347 passed September 24, 1984 authorising the extension of the existing sanitary sewer on Doxil Road in a southerly direction to serve three additional lots owned by the Target Area Development Corp., identified as Lots No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 in the Dowd Industrial Estates Subdivision. The sewer extension consisted of the installation of 490 feet of 8 inch pipe and one manhole. The total actual coat of the sewer installation was $6,656.00, which compares favorably with the original estimate of $10,700.00. In accordance with the ori al agreement, the City would pay fifty percent of the Cos t and the remaining $3028.00 would be assessed against Lots No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 in the Dowd Industrial Estates Subdivision in proportion to the area of each lot. Accordingly, the recom- mended assessments would be as follows: Lot No. 1 $1,065.58 Lot No. 2 - 951.75 Lot No. 3 1.310.67 Total $3028.00 It was originally agreed by the City Council that the assess- ments would be deferred for up to three years, or until each lot was sold, r ichever is lees, and that ten percent (10%) simple interest would be added to the assessments for each year that they were deferred. Since the sewer installation was completed by June 30 198-52 it is recommended that the three year period 3b extend to lune , 1988. Furthermore, since Lot No. 2 was sold to Eremite & Valley, Inc, prior to the completion of the sewer, it is recommended that the assessment for Lot No. 2 be levied, with ten percent (30%) interest added for the year that payment has been deferred. This would result in a current assessment of $1,046.93 against Lot No. 2. A plan showing the actual sewer extension is on file in the office of the City Engineer. Rqespeectffuullysubmitted, John T.
