THAT Chapter II, Article 21 of the Crdinsnces of the City of Bangor are
hereby amended as follows:
(1) THAT Section 5(5.12) is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the
following:
5.12 MSIC 'TOTAL ReNJIBEMNI5 OR BASIC ttSItTfOiWiCE OJ515.

aand other family, consumptives. To this amount is added
ahousing allowance which incluies rent, fuel and all utilities.
Basic total reguireaeets are adjusted pericdically, by the
Director of Health act Welfare t, reflect changes in the
Natio Poverty Guidelines.

(3) THAT Section 5f5.14(J)I is deleted in its entirety and replaced with
the following:
J. Burial. lire Welfare Department shall provide for proper
burial of irdigent persons providing that the total
burial costs do not exceed $650.00 ant it is determined that
the burial costs cannot be paid in total, or in part, Ecom
any other source including responsible relatives or foam

apply all monies available from otter sources twazd the
total burial costa. The allowance for burials under these
Guidelines shall include the undertaker's services,
clergy, personal attendants, casket, vault bar, bearse and
obituary. When required, a usucinum of $125 may ho paid
for a liner. The expense of opening and closing the grave
will be considered an additional cast to be paid directly
W the cemsomy. The additional cost of a graveside
service will not be considered a reverse expense under
these Guidelines. The Welfare Department small not pay
for burials in lots outside of the City or for single size
lots. However, any person qualifying for assistance under
this Section nay be buried in a lot provided by tone City
far soon purposes. The Welfare Department shall not be
obliged to pay for any burial expenses provided if the
Director has not aWrWej such exp enees prior t0 their
delivery.
