ORDERED, THAT the attached petition from St. Joseph Hospital requesting the discontinuance of a portion of French Street between Congress Street and Broadway be andhereby is accepted; and be it further ORDERED, THAT the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of the Municipal Officers according to 23 M.B.S.A.. 53026, be and hereby is directed to discontinue a portion of French Street between Congress Street and Broadway, the c erline-of said portion to be discontinued were fully described a follows: Beginning at a point on the existing centerline of French Street located 105 feet north from the northerly right-of-way line of Congress Street;. thence in a northerly direction along said French Street centerline for a distance of 610 feet to a point, said point being approximately 640 feet south from the intersection of said French Street centerline with the southwesterly right-of-way line of Broadway: and be it further ORDERED. THAT the City Engineer pranced to give beat practical notice to all abutting property owners and the Planning Board: and the City Engineer 1s further ORDERED. TO make a written return of said action containing the bounds and admeasurements of said discontinuance,together with a list of abutting property o and the amount of damages, if any, to be paid a result of said discontinuance, all in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine. In order for this project to be successful, it is extremely important to place the main entrance of this building on French Street. Therefore. the Foundation is petitioning the City to consider the closure of French Street in the area bounded by 479 French Street to the North to 439 French Street to the South.
