Currently, traffic signaling for the two corridors function under a single timing plan which was implemented several years ago. Both corridors operate using a 140 second cycle length which is sufficient for periods of heavy traffic volumes but does not accommodate the periods when traffic volumes are light. The Engineering Department requests additional assistance from traffic engineering firms to help develop the traffic models, as well as, provide timing plans that would better serve motorists on these two corridors. The intent of improving the traffic signal timing along Stillwater Avenue and Hogan Road corridors is to allow traffic to move more efficiently and reduce motorist frustration, while also reducing the current delays experienced on the side roads.
