Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this amendment to the s called Historic Preservation Ordinance is to create a,,new historic landmark. CLERK &V of Pattgor, Mnirw BUREAU OF CODE ENFORCEMENT AND FIRE PREVENTION Dere March 23, 19137 THOMAS E SMALL MOSSH seie=c Historic Landmark At the recently scheduled meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission, held on March 17th, the Commission unanimously voted to continue the matter to the Commission's scheduled meeting in May, planned for May 26th, at the request of Eastern Maine Healthcare, owner of the structure. - The purpose of this continuance is to afford time to the Commission to review the drafted amendment to the Historic Preservation Commission prepared by Thomas Johnson, Legal Counsel for Eastern Maine Healthcare, proposing a Variance process be included in the existing Ordinanace. This shall afford ample time for the Commission to review the proposal, along with the State Historic Preservation Commissioner to are that this would not jeopardise the Bangor' Commission's standingas a certified local government. The Historic Commission has assured James Coffey Of Eastern Maine Healthcare, that no action would be taken on designation of the Mace House until such time as anclusion has been made as to their decision concerning the Variance Amendment to the Ordinance. July 27, 1987 This is to advise you that the Historic Preservation Commission met on Friday, July 24, 1987 and at that time requested that the above referenced Ordinance Amendment be continued to the second meeting scheduled for the City Council in August.
