Item/Subject: Springer Drive Sewer Extension
Responsible Department engineering
Commentary:
The Liberty Group of Portland, under a corporation know as Stillwater
Avenue. Lead Associates. is proposing to construct a 56-lot commercial
ial
subdivision n the former Babcock Palm located northeast from the end
of Springer Drive, which is located approximately 1.500 feet northeast
from the present terminus of the sanitary sewer
n Springer Drive.oand
which will also require an additional 1,600 feet of "s extending
across their site which could. eventually beveitendei'm serve the Chase
Road - Stillwater Avenue area. Since the subject sewer requires the
crossing of land owed by others, and since it follows the route
previously proposed by the City for the eventual a we irextension
to the Chase Road area, the a should be c nsidered as eventually part
or the City) sewer system. Before the developer can get preliminary and
final subdivision plan approval from the PlanningBoard, the Board will
have to be assured that the City sever
will be extended a ary to
serve the project, which will require the crossing of property owed
by others;
This Resolve does act remit the City to pay for any po if of the
construction. which is part of a previous Council
Order, wherein a cost study is presently being a Deportment Hmd
Manager's COmmenie:
*undertaken: it is merely to Insure that the developers can have access
to the public sewer system, and to satisfy the Planning Board that such
provision is being made.
