Commemarr:
This ordinance averandimant reflects changes in the City's Sewer
Ordinance and has been prepared in conjunction with contemporaneous
changes to the Subdivision Ordinance regarding sewerage. Although
not formally referred to the Planning Board, �e Board did review
this amendment during their review of the aforementioned
subdivision changes. �A

THAT the provisions of Chapter. V, Article 9, Section I be amended
by adding a new Subsection, 1.40 as follows:
1.40 "Private Water 'Source:" Any source of water, except

THAT the provisions of Chapter. V, Article 9, Subsection 244 be

2.4 The owner of all houses, buildings, or properties used
for human occupancy, employment, recreation, orother
purposes, situated within the City and abutting on any
street, alley, or right-of-way in which there is now
located or may in the future be located a public sanitary
or combined sewer of the City, is hereby required at his
expense to install suitable toilet facilities therein,
and to connect such facilities directlywith the proper
public sewer in accordance with the provision of this
Ordinance, within ninety (90) days after date of offical
notice to dos , provided that said -publics is within

and be it further ordained,
THAT the provisions of Chapter. V, Article 9, Section 17 of the
Ordinances of the City of Bangor be amended by adding a new Subsection
17.3, as follows:
17.3 It shall be unlawful to discharge sewage containing water
from any unmetered private water source into any public

sewer. Discharge of sewage containing water from private
water sources shall be authorized provided the property
owner first installs, at his or her expense, a meter which
will permit the monitoring and recording of water flow
from said source. Said meter shall be operated and main-
tained
in-tained and kept in good working order at all times by
the property owner. The City or its designated agent
shall have the right at all times during regular business
hours to inspect and take readings from such meter for
purposes of determining the flow of water for purposes
of computing sewer user charges.
