This is arenewal of an agreement from last
summer which authorizes
the Whig andCourier to sell alcohol on the
tables they have been
authorized to place in West Market Square.
The conditions of such
.sale are outlined on the, attached Order. I'm
not aware of any
problems last year and would recommend approval.

ORDERED,
TEAT WBEREA9, the city Council has authorized the City Manager
to enter into an Agreement with Stephen Johnson, Proprietorof the Woig s
Courier Restaurant, to use porticos of West Market Squat for the placement
of outside eating tables during the sumer months of 1988; and
W6RBA4, Mr. Johnson has requested permission to serve
alcoholic beverages at said tables,

OROBRED, THAT the City Manager IS hereby authorized and
directed, m banal£ of the City of Bangor, to enter into an Agreement, in
form approved he by tCity Solicitor, with said Stephen Johnson prvvidingfor
the sale of alcoholic beverages at said tables in West Market Square subject
W such conditions as may he imposed by the Manager, including, but not
limited to, the following:
(1) Alcoholic beverages will be served only during the
bourn the kitchen is open and meals are being served.
(2) Alcoholic beverages will only be served duriL
daylight hours.
(3) Tables to whits alcoholic beverages are W be
served will be separated in a canner approved by the
City Manager away from other areae occupied by the
general public. Only specially -designated staff will
serve alcoholic beverages at the tables.
(4) Cush rs will not be permitted to transport
drinks and may only be served at the designated
tables.
(5) Licensee SM11 provide such insurance coverages
as may be recovmerded by the Finance Director.
