Item/Subject: Amending Chapter VII, Article 4, Section 13 of the
Historic Preservation Ordinance -- Penalty Provisions

Commentary:
This ordinance amendment updates the penalty provision of the
Historic Preservation Ordinance to allow the City to prosecute
solations through the use of Maine Rule of Civil Procedure 80K.
Additionally, this amendment increases the penalty amount for
solations from a fine of $10 to $100 to a Fin o£ $100 to
$2500 for a first offense, and from $2,500 to: 25,000 £or'"a
second offense within any 2 -year period. This proposed amendment
should be referred to the Historic Preservation Concussion and
the Code 6 Ordinance Constrictor.-

THAT Chapter VII, Article 4, Section 13 of the Ordinances is hereby deleted
in its entirety and replaced With the following:

Civil Procedure 80N. This same penalty provision has been incorpoxated into
all other land use .ordinances of the City of Bangor.
