CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department
May 17. 1988
To the Municipal Officers:
88-23)
Reference is made to City Council order No. 88-226 passed May 9,
1988 directing the City Engineer to do a study to determine the coat of
extending the sanitary sewer
r for a distance of 100 feet on Dowd Road, in
accordancewith a petition it= the Bangor Target Area Development
Corporation, to serve a proposed new building development to be located
on the comer of Colin Road and Dowd Road.
Surveys, Plane and Cost Estimates have been completed which would
provide for the installation of 100 feet of 8 Inch sewer, capped at the
end for possible future extension. The total estimated cost of the sewer
extension is $2,800.00. Of this amount, the City would pay fifty percent,
and the remaining $1,400.00 would bea sed against the property to be
benefitted, to be paid by the Bangor Target Area Development Corporation.
Edward McKeon, the Executive Manager, has indicated that they are in favor
of the proposed a extension. The proposed development would consist
of Construction oarbuilding having a value of approximately $300,000.00.
o that the potential taxes to be generated will easily offset the City's
share of the coat.
It Is recommended that the sewer extension be made as soon as
possible.
Respectfully submitted,
JU:jkp I John T. Frawley, City Engineer
