Directing City Engineer to do Coat Study - Sanitary Sewer
Item/Subject: Extension on Dowd Arad
Responsible Department: Engineering
Commentary:
This extension is required to serve a proposed new building on Lot No. 15
in the Dowd Industrial Estates Subdivision, wherein the present terminus
of the sewer is short of said lot. This Order should be placed under New
Business, after which the Engineering Department will do a cost
study and submit a report under a new order.

.John Frawley
City Engineer
City Hall
Bangor, Maine 04401
Dear John
This is to request extension of the sanitary sewer on
Dowd Road from its present terminus by another 100 feet
.southerly toward odlin Road.
Target is preparing. to sell .Lot #13 in the Dowd Industrial
Estates subdivision and requires the extension to properly
serve the lot development.
It is my understanding that the sewer extension can be
capped at its new termination point. The lot developer -
-Maine Fire Protection - will be contracting with M. D.
Hardy, Inc, to construct the building including lot pre-
paration and sewer
service to the building. If the Public
Works Department, because of prior schedules, is nable to
schedule the work, as requiredfor the development, the con-
tractor could lay the extension of the city sewer in the
right of way, under supervision and inspection of your
department, if this is satisfactory to your office.
Target would pay fifty percent of the city sewer extension
costs. up front, with the understanding that the city pay the
other fifty percent from its Sewer Fund, as per past practice
an the city's industrial park program.
If this request and your study could be expedited, it would
be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Edward G.Ma
