HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-08-13 18-324 Order 08/13/201818-324 08/13/2018 18-324 Health & Community Services Order N/A Title, Order Adopting the AARP approved Livable Age-Friendly Action Plan This order would adopt the Age-Friendly Action Plan, which outlines a series of actions that would make Bangor more livable for the senior population. The plan was put together by the Bangor Livable Communities Committee and would allow the group to begin the implementation of an action plan. This action plan has met the criteria established by AARP and the World Health Organization resulting in the City of Bangor being recognized as the 100th age friendly community in Maine. The items in the action plan are phased over a three (3) year time line and the committee is focused on implementing these items where possible. Government Operations Committee 08/06/2018 Recommend for passage 50 Consent 08/13/201818-324 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 08/13/2018 18-324 Supica Adopting the AARP approved Livable Age-Friendly Action Plan Where as, Bangor Livable Communities Committee has submitted an action plan to be recognized by AARP and the World Health Organization as an Age-Friendly Community. Where as, AARP and the World Health Organization has accepted and approved of the action plan submitted by the Bangor Livable Communities Committee. Where as, the Bangor Livable Communities Committee will make all attempt to implement the action plan, the action plan is not a commitment that all items will be put into place. Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the Bangor Livable Communities Committee implement the AARP approved Livable Community Action Plan.
