Comcilman MARIE YOUNGS-ANDERSEN 88-158 342 PEARL STREET BANGOR MAINE 04401 fr'- HIk)mVDR Mr. Russell McKenna City Clerk City Ball Bangor Maine 04401 re: Historic Preservation Commission It is with great regret that I submit this letter of resignation from my position on the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Bangor. As you know, I was only recently appointed to the post on the Commission, but in the intervening weeks, several things have happened that were unforseen at the time of my application and subsequent appointment. First of all, I have recently returned to the work force and find that my new employment is more time consuming than I had anticipated. Compounding this problem is the fact that I recently learned that I am expecting my second child in October. I am afraid that, with the birth of this child, my schedule will not permit the time committment I feel necessary to perform my job on the Commission to the best of my ability. I know that the Chairman of the Commission, Joan woodcock, is planning to have some educational training for the members of the Commission in the near future. I feel that it would not be fair for me to avail myself of this training, while knowing that I would be resigning up on the birth of my baby in the fall. Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to render my resignation now, so that a new member my be appointed before the training course is given. - I have enjoyed my short tenure on the Commission and salute the City of Bangor, Nancy San Antonio and Joan Woodcock for the excellent service it provides the citizens of Bangor. I trust that you will pass on this letter of resignation to the proper members of the City Council with my thanks for my appointment and my regret for my resignation. Thank ry^you very much N-b\ Marie YoungsdersenV Member - Historic Preservation Commission cc: Nancy San Antonio Joan Woodcock
