Resolve, Accepting and Appropriating a CARA Local Drug Crises Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration in the Amount of $49,791.
This Resolve will accept and appropriate $49,791 from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Service Administration to work in concert with Bangor Schools to implement a chronic absenteeism
prevention program with the goal of reducing youth substance use during the period July 1, 2018 -
June 30, 2019, which is the first year of a three-year grant term. This grant is an enhancement
grant to Public Health and Community Services' existing Drug Free Communities Grant.

Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that,
Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, there is hereby accepted and appropriated a
grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, in the amount of $49,791 to
implement youth substance use prevention strategies through development of a chronic absenteeism
prevention program with Bangor School Department for the period July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
