Executive Session – 36 MRSA Section 841 (2) – Hardship Abatement 2. Open Session – Hardship Abatement Decision Motion made and seconded to accept staff recommendation to grant an abatement, motion passed unanimously. 3. Consent Agenda a. Report of Bids Awarded by Staff – June 2018 Motion made and seconded to accept consent agenda. Motion passed unanimously. Councilor Tremble requested that additional detail, such as the number of other bidders, be provided in future agendas regarding bids approved by staff. 4. Bids/Purchasing a. HVAC Controller Unit – Police Department – XL Automation - $13,552 Motion made and seconded to approve purchase, motion passed unanimously. b. Request to Piggyback on State of Maine Contract – Police Vehicles – Police – Quirk Auto - $97,887 Motion made and seconded to approve purchase, motion passed unanimously. c. Order, Authorizing Lease Purchase of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus – Industrial Protection Services - $312,000 Motion made and seconded to approve lease purchase, motion passed unanimously. d. Pickering Square Parking Garage Restoration – Parking – Hascall & Hall - $145,373 Motion made and seconded to award contract, motion passed unanimously. 5. STOP School Violence Prevention and Mental Health Training Grant Application Staff discussed the School Department’s desire to apply for the grant which would providing funding for education and resources to recognize, respond and prevent violent attacks on school grounds. Only states and local governments are allowed to apply for the grant. Motion made and seconded to move forward with applying for the grant. Meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm
