The area, along with a structure attached to the building, would extend into the City's Lower Abbott parking lot. The structure will need approval for design review purposes by the City's Historic Preservation Commission. A number of concerns about the proposed seating area were raised at the Business and Economic Development Committee meeting on June 20. These concerns primarily related to noise and trash. Under the terms of the proposed outdoor seating permit, alcohol service and consumption would have to stop by midnight. The City would also require an employee to be stationed outside while the seating area is being used. Half Acre would be responsible to ensure that the area is clear of trash.
