HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-05-14 18-188 Order 05/14/201818-188 05/14/2018 18-188 City Manager Order N/A Title, Order Authorizing Execution of a Metropolitan Planning Agreement between the State of Maine Department of Transportation, the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System and the City of Bangor. This Order would authorize the City Manager to sign an agreement regarding planning and data collection for the bus system with BACTS and MaineDOT. Federal regulations require the City, the Maine Department of Transportation (Maine DOT), and the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System (BACTS) to have a written agreement in place for developing and sharing information. This information includes performance data, performance targets, progress towards attaining goals, and asset management data. Under this agreement, the parties would cooperate to set performance measures; use data collection practices and targets that are compatible statewide where feasible; and exchange drafts of federally-required plans for review and comment before being finalized. The goal is to collect, share, and evaluate performance data in a manner that is efficient and effective for all. This agreement must be signed by all parties no later than May 27, 2018, or federal funding will be withheld. Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and sign the Metropolitan Planning Agreement between the State of Maine Department of Transportation, the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System and the City of Bangor on behalf of the City of Bangor, in final form as approved by the City Solicitor or Assistant City Solicitor.
