Resolve, Accepting and Appropriating a Grant from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services,
Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services in the Amount of $100,000 to Support an Overdose
Prevention Program.
This Resolve will accept and appropriate $100,000 from the Maine Department of Health and Human
Services to support an overdose prevention education and outreach program during the period July
1, 2018 – June 30, 2020. If approved, the grant includes services for the counties of Penobscot,
Hancock, and Washington. The Public Health and Community Services Department has been a
recipient of this grant since 2008. This item was reviewed and approved by the Government
Operations Committee on April 18, 2018.

Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that:
The City shall accept and appropriate a grant from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services,
Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, in the amount of $100,000 to continue implementing
strategies for overdose prevention in Penobscot, Hancock and Washington counties for the period July 1, 2018
to June 30, 2020.
