Egreet, By the City Cannon of the City of Danger: ORDERED. - - - . THAT that the attached Petition from St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation, requesting the discontinuance of a portion of French Street between Congress Street and Broadway be and hereby is accepted; and be it further ORDERED, THAT the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of the Municipal officers according to 23 M.R.S.A., 9 3026 be and hereby is directed to discontinue a portion of French Street between Congress Street and Broadway, the centerline of said portion to be discontinued more fully described as follows: Beginning at a point located seven hundred fifteen (715) feet north Press the northerly rigbt-of-way line of Congress Street, said point of beginning being at the northerly terminus of that portion of French Street discontinued by City Council Order No. 87-320 passed August 24, 1987. a recorded in Penobscot Registry of Deeds; thence in a northerly direction along said French Street centerline for a distance of three hundred twenty- five (325) feet to a point, said point being three hundred fifteen (315) feet, more or lees, south from the intersection of said French Street centerline with the southwesterly right-of-way line of Broadway; and be it further ORDERED, TWT the City Engineer proceed to give beet practical notice to all abutting property owners and the Planning Board; and the City Engineer is further ORDERED,. TOmakea written return of said action containing the bounds and ad- ents of said discontinuance, together with a list of abutting property owners and the amnnt of damages, if any,c to be paid as a result of said dis- continuance, is- cnt£nu ce, all in accordance with the lave of the State of Wine. JOIEPH HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION Mr. John Frawley Engineering Department City Hall 73 Harlow Street Bangor, Maine. 05501 November 3, 1987 St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation and it's affiliates, wishes to petition the City of Bangor, to consider closing a portion of French Street. Specifically commencing at the northern most point of the prior discontinuance, and preceeding northerly to the northern boundry of 507 French Street. The Foundation has a purchase and sale agreement to acquire 485 French Street, and will anticipate closing this transaction, in the very near future. We will notify you as soon as we have acquired title to this property.
