HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-03-15 Commission on Cultural Development Minutes City of Bangor, Commission on Cultural Development March 15, 2018 8:30 a.m. Council Chambers, City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor Attendance: Andrea Littlefield, Tristine Currier, Allen Adams, Jared Hunnefeld, Staff Liaison Katelyn Chase. 1. Welcome Cultural Liaison Katelyn Chase called the meeting to order. 2. Approval of Februa Meeting Minutes Allen Adams motioned to approved, Trinstine Currier seconded the motion. 3. Budget Update th Current standings, same as last month with $16,732.81 available through June 30 to fund May grants and any additional programing. 4. Approval of Revised Grant Application Chair Kim Stewart was unable to make meeting, therefore unable to bring along the new application. 5. Form Committees At Februarys meeting, all commissioners were asked to sign up electronically for a committee. Once all commissioners had assigned themselves to a committee, committees were asked to have met and formed goals for the year. After discussing the committee duties, the attending commissioners who had not signed up for a committee dedicated themselves to one, as follows: Allen Adams- Funding Committee; Tristine Currier- Programming & Education Committee; Jared Hunnefeld- Marketing Committee. th A new deadline was set of next months meeting, April 12, for committees to have met and formed goals. 6. Other Business The Penobscot Theatre Companys production of Ugly Lies The Bone shows its first thst preview tonight, March 15, and will run through April 1. The 10 bucks Theatre is looking for men and women to play warrior parts in their upcoming production, where they will learn stage combat. The Maine Science Festival is this weekend. In addition to programming at the Cross Insurance Center, Fork & Spoon and the Maine Discovery Museum will be hosting family friendly & STEM style games, teaching kids that games can be used for learning as well. Games for all ages, ranging from 3 and up. 7. Adjourn Future Commission Meetings (8:30 a.m. in Council Chambers): 2018 April 12 May 10 June 14
