Cit heaaum-Collector Intmddced-aM filed by . . mcilmn �ewei�en O51 ASSISTANT CITY TREA9IBIER-COLLECTOR This Is technical clerical work assisting the City Treasurer -Collector, with primary emphasis on field and office investigation of non-payment of city taxes. Work involves field visits to delinquent taxpayers in order to r revenues due the city but not received through routine collection channels. Emphasisris upon the collection of poll and personal property faze$, although some work is done n delinquent real property taxes. When not engaged in such field work, the employee performs routine clerical work in the office of the treasurer and time collector and all work, both field and office, is performed under the supervision of this official. INIM'LES OF NARK PERFORPEO (Any one position may not include all of the duties list , or o the Usted exercise include ell tasks which may be found in positions of this class.) Visits delinquent taxpayers and attempts to collect taxes due the city. Brings delinquency cases to the attention of the city solicitor and serves papers in civil matters for the city solicitor. Works in the office during rush periods assisting in the collection of real, personal property, poll and excise taxes. Performs related work as required. REENIRED KN WLEDGES. SKII.LS AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of property tax laws and ordinances. Working knowledge of the geography of the city. Ability to deal courteously and firmly with delinquent tanpayera. Ability to perform routine clerical work and to keep simple office records. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with otheremployees and the public. DESIRABLE ERPERIERCE AND TRAINING Some experience in financial or accounting operations. Some experience in meeting and dealing with the public; and graduation from a standard college or business college.
