School Bus Transportation._ .,

•We the undersignedo residen}s of the area comprising Di111ngbam.Tbatcber,
Olive and lower Pain streets, wish to petition the City Council for aid in
solving our common problem. Our basic contentions are as follows;
1. We have been told that we meet have aur children walk to Vine Street
School via a route which contains five pontentially dangerous crossings, these
being.the Farm Road, the access to and exit from the Interetate,which has no .
atop sign the Fael Kartp where trailer trucks are crossing almost oonatantly,
and Buck street, most of which has not even a sidewalk.
2. We do not believe that a route we have proved to be dangerous for an
adult can oonceiveably be deemed safe for seven and eight year old children.
3. We strongly feel that our children must be protected from these bas-
ards by either transportationv or adequate adult supervision, and further.tbat
no amount of money is more valuable than the life of one child.
The safety committee along with Capt. Small bees already confirmed that
the area is as dangerous as we know it to be.
Bearing these facts in mind, we ask that you give our petition your ear-
nest considerationy before winter comes and makes of a present hazard a pot-
ential death trap.
