In Re: Unsafe building
For several months now, I have been trying to have the
dwelling located at 61 Newbury Street either repaired and
restored to a safe condition or torn down.
On April 28, 1961, a final notice was sent to the owner,
the heirs of Bra. Mary Cowan, but to date, no improvements have
been made to this structure.
I, therefore, recommend that this dwelling be removed and
the matter be referred to the City Council for action.
Respectfully submitted,

In Se: City Council Order #199R
In reference to my letter of September 25 in which I
recommended that condemnation of the building located at
61 Newbury Street be tabled until further notice, I would
now recommend that this matter be indefinitely postponed.
Nr. Robert Barry has recently purchased this property
from the heirs of Nary Cowan and has made satisfactory progress
on the remodeling of this building. It is for this reason
that I believe this order should be indefinitely postponed.
