By the LYV Counei! of M City pjBanyw: MS0DV6D, THAT THE.CITY CONCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR APPROVE THE UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS A PLANS FOR PN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT MD THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION W REAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended (herein re- ferred to as "Tifle I"), the Housing and Home finance Administrator Is authorized to extend financial assistance to local public agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread of their slums and urban blight through the planning and undertaking of urban renewal projects; and WHEREAS It Is desirable and in the public Interest that the Bangor Urban Renewal Authority make surveys and prepare plans, presently estimated to cost approximately one hundred fiffy-two thousand two hundred and eighty- seven dollars 1$152,2871, In order to undertake and carry out an urban re- newal project of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of Title 1. In that area proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the City of Seegers sCounthicof h Penobscot and State of Maines which is described In the attachmentsIJJIy, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BMCfJR I. That the proposed Urban Renewal Area described above is a slum, blighted, deferloratede s or deteriorating a appropriate for an urban renewal project`and th of the undertaking by the Bangor Urban Renewal Auth- orify of surveys and plans for an urban renewal project of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of Title lIn the proposed Urban Renewal Area Is hereby approved; and further that the proposed urban renewal area de- scribed above is not predominantly residential in character and that the redevelopment of this area for predominantly n n-resldential use is necessary for the proper development of the Central Business District of the City of Bangor, and of the entire City of Bangor Itself. 2.
