Box G, west End Portland, Maine City Council City Hall Bangor, Maine Gentlemen: June 15, 1961 Bequest is hereby made to the City Council of Bamoi, Maine, for permission to relocate an eight -foot rotating sign located at 461 Main Street. It is requested that this sign be relocated Ergo its existing location at the easterly corner of the property to a point on the seer edge of the sidewalk midway in the property frontage. The area where the sign would be relocated is awned by the City of Bangor as shown on the attached survey of the property. Also shown on this survey is the loca- tion of the existing sign and the proposed relocation. The Shell 011 Company will assume all expense in relocating the sign and, should the City wish to make use of this land at any time 1n the future, the expense for removing the sign from the City's land would be absorbed by Shell Oil Company. I have looked this new location over and according to the plans submitted by the Shell Oil Company, the foundation for this sign will be approximately five feet back of the present sidewalk, and after it is erected, the sign will not be over the sidewalk more than three feet.
