THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Bangor Is contemplating the
construction of a nine hole golf course on City land located south
of Webster Avenue and east of Thatcher Street and,
WHEREAS, proposed construction by the State Highway Commission
will remove a portion of said land, necessitating the acquisition
of additional land for the relocation of a portion of the golf
course, now therefore be it
ORDMI)i that the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of
the municipal officers of the City of Bangor, is hereby directed
to lay out additional land within the corporate limit& for the
constriction of the municipal golf course in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 96, Section 6, Revised Statutes of Haines
1954t as amended, and be it further
ORDERS➢, that the City Ragineers acting for and on behalf of said
municipal officers, proceed to give written notice of such intentions
of such municipal officers by posting such notices for seven days
in two public places in the City of Bangor and In the vicinity of
the lot of land more fully described as follows:
Being the area lying west of Thatcher Street and snobs of
City owned land on Webster Avenue and bordered on the south by the
Interstate Highway and on the west by the lot of land owned by the
Satandia lies Council of the any Sonata of America; said area con-
sists of two parcels of land now or formerly owned by Lydia A. Godsoe
and containing 2.1 acres and 5.5 acres respectively and one parcel
of land now or formerly owned by the Frank Drummond Heirs and con-
taining 2.2 acres; and the City Eaginear Is further
CURSED, to make a written return of said proceedings, containing
bounds and ad -measurements of said lot of land and the damages allowed
to the person or persona for the land Laken, all In accordance with
the Laws of the State of Mine, said report to be made a part of this
order.

the City Engineer gave written notice by notices abashed to copies of said order posted for seven

in two public places in the City of Bangor and in the vicinity of said streath to wit:

One on Webster Avenue near the Interstate overpass

And that the said City Engineer met at the time and place of meeting sprouted in the notices; ,
viewed the land,
and proceeded to lay out. said land as follows:
Parcel owned by Lydia A. Godeoe designated as Parcel 1-A
Beginning at a point on the southwesterly side of Thatcher
Street, said point located approximately $even hundred and seventy
feet (770') mouth from the southeasterly sideline of Webster
Avenue; thence southeast along the southwesterly sideline of
Thatcher Street a distance of about seven hundred and thirty
feet (730') to the northerly sideline of proposed U. S. Route
1-A right-of-way line; thence southwest along said right-of-way
line a distance of about one hundred and thirty Yeet (130');
thence northwest for a distance of about seven hundred and fifty
feet (7501) to a point; thence northeast a distance of one hundred
and twenty-Yive feet (1251) to the point of beginning, The Loral
area of this parcel Is 2.1 acres.

Parcel owned by Frank Mummond Heirs and Lydia A. Godeoe
designated as Parcel 2-A
Beginning at the southwest corner of a parcel of land owned
by Lydia A. Godeoe and designated as parcel 1-A; thence southeast
along the southwest line of said parcel 1-A for a distance of about
seven hundred and fifty feet (750') to the northwesterly right-of-way
line of the proposed Routs 1-A relocation; thence southwest along
said right-of-way line for a distance of about one hundred thirty.
five feet (135'); thence northwest on a line parallel to the first
described line for a distance of seven hundred and ninety-five feet
(795'); thence northeast for a distance of about one hundred and
twenty-five feet (125') to the point of beginning. The above des-
cribed parcel contains 2.2 acres.

Parcel of Land owned by Lydia A. Godeoe designated as Parcel 3-A
Beginning at the southwest corner of a parcel of land owned
by Frank Drummond Heirs and Lydia A. Godeoe and designated as
parcel 2-A; thence southeast along the southwesterly line of said
property a distance of about seven hundred and ninety-five feet
(795') to the northwesterly rlght-of-way line of the proposed
Route 1-A; thence southwest along said right-of-way line for a
distance of about two hundred and sixty-five feet (265') to the
northeasterly right-of-way line of Interstate Highway I-395;
thanes west along said Interstate rlght-of-way line a distance of
about sixty-two Peet (62') to a point; theace northwest on a line
parallel to the first described line for a distance of about eight
hundred and fifty-five Peat (855') to a point; thane northeast for
a distance of about two hundred and eighty feet (280') to the point
of beginning. The above described parcel of land contains 5.5 acres.
Recommended damages $415.00.

More appeared at the time and place set for the meeting
Mr. George Carlisle representing Lydia A. Godsoe; and Mr. and
Mrs. Roland G. Dolley representing the Frank Drummond Heirs.
The value of the land relative to future development was discussed
including the setlmated coat of sewer Installation and development
of the Thatcher Street roadway. It was ascertained that a water
line existed along Thatcher Street which would provide future
service to the property. It was pointed out that the land in
question is a wooded area which has been extensively out over.
The parties present were informed of their rights to appeal the
recommended damages in accordance with the Revised Statutes of
the State of Maine.
In accordance with Chapter 96, section 5 of the Revised
Statutes of the State of Maine, a petition containing the names
of thirty (30) tax paying citizens of the City of Bangor has been
preparedg which directs the munlolpal officers to lay oat the land
for the purpose described above. Said petition is attached as a
part of this report.
It is recommended that the above laying cut be accepted for
use for the construction of the municipal golf course and that the
damages recommended for said land be approved.

wE, THE UNDERSIGNED TAR PAYING OITIZENS OF THE CITY OF
RARGOR, DO HEREBY DIRECT THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF
BANGOR, THAT THE LAND DESORIBED DERWIN AND BELONGING TO LYDIA
A. GODSOE ADD TEE FRANK DRUMMOND HEIRS, OF SAID BANGOR, BE TAKEN
AS A WUNICIPAL GOLF OOURSE, SAID PROPERTY BEING MORE FULLY DBS-
CRIBKD AS FOLLOWS:
"Being the area lying west of Thatcher Street and south
of Oity owned land on Webster Avenue and bordered on the south
by the Interstate Highway and on the west by the lot of land
owned by the Katandin Area Donnell of the Boy Scouts of America;
said area consists of two parcels of land now or formerly owned
by Lydia A. Godsoe and containing 2.1 acres and 5.5 acres
respectively and one parcel of land now or foamerly owned
by the Frank Drummond Heirs and containing 2.2 acres,"
