Members of the
Bangor City Council
Gentleman:
138-M-2
Briefly, I wish to explain to you what has happened to date
regarding the "Bond Issue for School Construction" Referendum.
On April 5, 1960 I was requested to prepare the necessary
papers to initiate a referendum regards g the following question;
"Shall the Order, Identification No. 98-M, passed by the City Council
on the 28th day of March, 1960, 'Authorizing the Issuance of
83,500,000 Aggregate Principal Amount of Bonds and of Tax Levy
Therefor' be acceptedr
On that same day, April 5, ten (10) registered voters
came to the office and signed the petition. The petition then
remained in my office for thirty business days and by the last
day, which was Nay 10, a total of 571 persons had signed and, of
this number, 556 were valid signatures.
To the beet of my knowledge the petition has been in
accordance with Article III of our City Charter.
Very truly yours,
JEAA v
