Bangor, Maine
Gentlemen.
In accordance with Chapter H, Article 9, Section 2. 1.
of the City Ordinances, I herewith report two emergency purchases.
1. 500 vials of poliomyelitis vaccine from the Bangor Drug Company.
It was necessary to rush the purchase of this vaccine so that
clinic dates could be met. Telephone prices were obtained from
three companies and the purchase was made at the tow bid of $2.70
per vial from the Bangor Drug Company.
Z. Our used sending body from the Highway Equipment Company,
Cedar Rapids, Iowa for $1,300.
This was the demonstrator which the city originally, purchased
for $2,300 and which was replaced with a brand new body when
the operation was unsatisfactory. The purchase price includes
$200worth of new parts which the garage foreman says will make
the operation completely satisfactory.
The first purchase has the approval of the Finance Committee
and the second purchase was approved informally by the entire Council at
the budget hearing on February 15th.
