ORDERED,
MT the attached petition for the acceptance of Bennett Street
so-called (formerly known as I'D" Street) be received and be it farther
ORDEN®, that Bennett Street be placed on the Official Map and be it
further
ORDERED, that the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf of the municipal
officers according to law, lay out by metes and brands add establish grades for
Bennett Street, extending for a distance of approximately 900 feet east of the
easterly sideline of Hlldreth Street and be it further
ORDERED, test the City Engineer report his findings together with said
descriptionto the City Council, said report and description to became a part
of this order, and the street as described in said report be hereby accepted as
a public way.

made part of this report.
And that the said City Engineer met at the time and place of meeting specified in the noticen
and proceeded 0 my out, as f0110ws:
Beginning at a point on the easterly sideline of Hlldreth
Street located 310 teat south of Me southerly sideline of Curtis
Street; thence easterly at a right angle on a bearing of M 82°-55'R
e distance of about 664.4 feet to a point; thence to the right along
a 15 degree curve having a radius of 458.07 feet for a distance of
415.78 feet to the westerly sideline of the existing Maine Central
Railroad spur track right-of-way. The street Is laid out 80 feet
wide measuring southerly and at right angles to the above described
line.

Beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the center
line of Bennett Street and the easterly sideline of Hildreth Street
at elevation 150.39; thence descending on a grade of -0.708 for a
distance of 350 feat to elevation 147.94; thence rising on a 200
foot vertical curve, having an external of 0.60 feet, to elevation
148.94; thence ascending on a grade of 1.78 for a distance of 200
feet to elevation 152.34; thence on a 100 foot vertical curve, hav-
ing an external of 0.09 feet, to elevation 154.19; Macau Reasnding
on a grade of 1.008 for a distance of 150 feettoelevation 155.69.
The above elevations refer to and are established from the City of
Bangor Ratan.
No person appeared at the time and place set for the meeting;
however, previous discussions have been held with Mr. Clifford B.
Swearingen, a representative of the D & S Corporation, who are
abutting property owners and who were the original petitioners for
Me acceptance of the abovementioned street. Mr. Swearingen has
requested that the construction of a spur track be permitted to
serve their property, to be located within the right-of-way limits
of the street. Said spur would begin on the existing branch track
to Miller Street at railroad station 14 + 67.7, and than would ex-
tend west on a line parallel to and 5 feet north of the southerly
sideline of Bennett Street for a distance of 1034 feet, ending
454.4 feet east of the easterly sideline of Hlldreth Street.
The spur track would be centered in a 20 foot wide right-of-way,
with 15 feet of said right-of-way within the right-of-way of
Bennett Street, All costa for construction of the spur track will
be borne by the D & S Corporation. Should the area Sn and around
the spur track be paved, then the pavement will be maintained by
the City of Bangor.
The City Baglneer recommends Chet the laying out and grade
as described above be accepted as a public way and that the street
be named and known as Bennett Street. No damages are recommended.
It is also recommended that the construction of the spur
track be allowed as described above.
An accurate plan and profile accompany this report.
