BY t(E City CounetT of vie City of Bangor: ORDERED, THAT, WHEREAS, on March lith the City Council passed Order 78-Q authorizing the City Engineer to lay out a portion of Washington Street for widening of said street in the vicinity of the Bangor end of the old Bangor -Brewer bridge and, WHEREAS, the City Engineer has now held a public hearing and made a written return of said proceedings, NOW THEREFORE, be ordered that the report of the City Engineer attached hereto be accepted. j}N CITY COUNCIL1mrareh 25, 1963 The ordinance requiring the filing of w order was suspended by the following yes and no votes Councilors voting "a: Barry. Property owned by Charles Stetson Devleees Rotate and leased to Tidewater 011 Company Beginning at a granite monument on the northerly sideline of Washington Street, located 109.9 feet east of the easterly sideline of Pine Street, said monument also being on the westerly property line of land owned by R. B.Dunning Company; thence west along the northerly sideline of Washington Street a distance of about 35 feet - to a point; thence east along a curve bearing to the left having a radius of 300 feet and which Is tangent to the last described line at the last described point, for a distance of about 35 feet to the westerly property line of land owned by R. B. Dunning Company; thence south for a distance of about 3 feet along said property to the point of beginning. The above described parcel contains approx- imately 52.5 square feet. Calderwood, representing the Stetson Estate; Mr. Sheldon C. Ling and Mr. H. L. Crook, representing Tidewater 011 Company; Mr. Earl Smith and Mr. Earl Pierce, representing the R. B. Those present were in favor of the proposed reconstruction, and all questions pertained only to the proposed traffic pattern. Phe City Engineer explained that a rotary traffic pattern is proposed Which would provide one-way traffic along Washington Street in a northerly direction, and that the proposed pattern would probably not be effected until completion of the recon- struction In the Fall. It to recommended that the abovementloned damages be allowed, and that the proposed land -taking become a part of the right-of- way of Washington Street.
