ORDER, Authorizing the Sale of Property by Release Deep from the City of Bangor to Felician Sisters of the Order of St. Francis of ConneC- tiout, Inc. (St. Jos sph Hospital) By the City Council of Ma City of Bangor: ORDERED. THAT the City Treasurer be and is hereby authorized to execute the attached Release Deed for and on behalf of the City of Bangor to Felician Sisters of the Order of St. Francis of Connecticut, Inc., (St. Joseph Hospital), a foreign. charitable corporation having an established place of business in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maim. This dead is to be delivered upon payment of the sum of Seventeen Hundred Dollars (81700.00). (Release Deed) KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT City of Bangor, a municipal corporation located in Penobscot County. State of Maine, in consideration of One Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars (811700.00) paid by Felician Sisters of the Order of St. Francis of Connecticut, Inc., (St. Joseph Hospital) a foreign charitable corporation having an established place of business in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does hereby remise, release, sell and forever quit -claim unto the said Felician Sisters of the Order of St. Francis of Connecticut, Inc. (St. Joseph Hospital), its successors and assigns forever, the fallowing described property located in Bangor. County of Penobscot, State of Maine, viz: Beginning at a point on the westerly side line French Street, said point also being 15 feet southerly from the northeast Corner of the lot of lend acquired by the City of Bangor from Joseph Bass and recorded in Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Volume 762, page 19{ thence westerly parallel to and 15 feet southerly from the northerly side line of said City of Bangor lot to a point which is 15 feet easterly from the face of the easterly exterior foundation wall of Longfellow School build- 56-M - 2 ing as it now exists, a distance of about 136 feet; thence southerly parallel to and 15 fast easterly from the exterior wall of said Longfellow School building to the southerly aide line of said school lot, a distance of 85 fast, said southerly side line also being the dividing line between said school let and property now awned by the Felician Sisters which is the location of St. Joseph Hospital; thence easterly along said dividing line to the westerly side line of French Street, a distance of about 138 feet; thence northerly along the westerly side line of French Street, a distance of M fes`., and the point of beginning. Meaning and intending to describe a lot or parcel of lend 85 feet wide and about 138 feet lond and retaining a fifteen foot strip of land upon the northerly bide line and along the easterly side of the e::ns"ng building, and being a part of the Longfellow School lot which was acquired by the City of Bangor from Joseph Base by deed dated April 24, 1906, and recorded in Penobscot Registry of Deeds, Volume 762, page 14. To Have and to Hold the above released premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, to the said Felician Sisters of the Order of St. Francis of Connecticut, Inc. (St. Joseph Hospital), its successors and assigns forever. In Witness Whereof, the said City of Bangor has caused in its name this instru- cent to be signed and its corporate seal to be hereunto affixed by Ralph L. Way - mouths its Treasurer, duly authorized by vote of the City Council of the City of Bangor at its regular meeting duly called and held on January 11, 1960, this day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixty. Signed, sealed and delivered CITY OF BANGOR in presence of Treasurer STATE OF MAIR County of Penobscot, as. Jan. A.D. 1960. Then personally appeared the above named Ralph L. Weymouth, Treasurer of said City of Bangor, and acknowledged the above instrument to be his free act and deed in his said capacity, and the face act and deed of said City of Bangor.
