Members absent Here: Dr. Blaisdell and We. Overlock. Ex -officio members present: W. Beton and Mr. Carpel. Others present were: Mr. Tarbell, Mr. McIntosh, Mayor Groes, W. Conti, Mr. Barlett, and press representative, McKeon. The meeting we called to order by Chairman Bragg. The minutes of the previous meeting sees approved, as corrected. Chairmen Bragg reported on the bide as received from the prime contractors. Von low bid we received from Consolidated Constructors, Inc. Chairman Bragg reported that the nee high school wet eatimEe was same $350,000 above the amount raised by the bond issue. This included paring the equipment figure $71,000 to a rev gross figure of $500,000. Mr. Cohen stated for the record that this proposed building is going to present major maintenance problems in the years to come. Mr. Tavbell stated that Consolidated Constructors, Inc. was responsible to build the building and to develop the site for $2,850,450. W. Tarbell and Mr. Bragg both reiterated that a definite bid amount could not be stated at this time due to the fact that too sub -bide bad been challenged. Dr. Porter moved that the School Building Committee recommended to its City Council that they negotiate a contract for the construction of the eco high school with Consolidated Constructors, Inc, on the basis of their bid of $2,850,450. It is understood that the total coat of the project will exceed the figures outlined in the proposal of January 17, 1961, by approximately $350,000 and that an additional appropriation of this amount will have to be made by the council before the project is completed. W. Carlisle moved to ameed the preceding motion by inserting, after the figure $2,850,450, the words "reduced by the negotiated amount to be de- ducted by the elimination of fees 44 --viz: development of the recreation 1 amendment am carried, 6.5. The male motion was carried as mended by a vote of I1-1 Or. Whittaker mood that alternate " be included in the Mee bid and recommended to the council. The motion we defeated 124.
