' Item No. 89-314 Authorizing the Execution of a Construction d Maintenance Easement Item/Subject: with the Maine Dept. of Transportation - Washington Street Bridge Responsible Department: Engineering Commentary: - The ends of the proposed guardrail approaches to the Washington Street Bridge are to be curved away from the travel way, extending into the park portion of Eevduskeag Plaza at the westerly terminus a distance of approxi- mately 4 feet, extending into the park area adjacent to the Nencuskeag Pump Station a distance of approximately 3 feet. and extending into the park area on the easterly bank of Renduskeag Stream south of Washington Street a distance of approximately 4 feet. The MOT requires an casement to install and maintain the guardrails in these locations. WHEREAS. the Maine Department of Transportation has scheduled the reconstruction of the Washington Street Bridge across Renduakeag Stream{ and waEREAS, said reconstruction will require the extension of the guardrail n bath approaches, including curved terminal end piecesn the westerly end at Eenduskeag Plaza and adjacent to the genduakeag Pump Station, and on the easterly end adjacent to the Eenduskeag Strean Park; and WHEREAS, the guardrail a achments a very minor and will not interfere with the public use of the City land: NOW. File No. 10-331) and to be recorded in the Penobscot County Registry of Deeds.
