Also in attendance were City Manager Cathy Conlow and Airport Director Tony Caruso. Agenda and Discussion: 1. TSA lease renewal Airport Director Tony Caruso requested Airport Committee approval of a 1-year lease renewal agreement with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for space at Bangor International Airport. This is the 2019 renewal of the office space used by their administrative and management personnel. The TSA has leased space at the Airport since 2001. A question was asked whether we pay TSA for services. TSA screening services are required and paid for by the Federal Government. Airports can charge them for office space, parking spaces, etc. They do not pay for area used for actual screening services. Motion made, seconded and approved. 2. Elite Airways short term lease Director Caruso asked for Committee approval for a short term 10-month lease agreement with Elite Airways. They would rent space in our Hangar #600 for aircraft maintenance purposes. Motion made, seconded and approved. 3. Republic Parking – airport review Director Caruso introduced Parke Clemons, General Manager of Republic Parking Systems, who is here to provide the Committee with his Annual Parking Report. The Report provides information on operations, usage, rates and offers some recommendations for future growth. The recommendations include incremental rate increases, adding a weekly rate, establishing a Capital Reserve Fund from the increased revenue, increase and update lighting with LED lights and to begin consideration of future growth options. Councilor Graham offered a motion to accept the recommendations for the rate increase and to establish a Capital Reserve Fund. These changes will be including in the Airport’s FY18 budget. Motion was seconded and approved. 4. Airport Statistics – January 2018 Airport Director Caruso reported another record month in January with 32,080 pages, a 17% increase over last year and a 2.2% over our 4-year average. We have a good market mix with our four airlines. Load factors in the mid-60s with American & Delta are concerning; may be due to cancellations and flight delays. Total operations are down 8% compared to last month. Major drivers were the loss of our deicer truck and major issues with our deicer supplies. Those issues have been resolved. We are still on pace to meet our fiscal year 2017 budget. Meeting Adjourned.
