Title, Resolve
Ratifying City Manager's Execution of Memorandum of Understanding - Maine Coalition to End Domestic
Violence
The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence, the City of Bangor, Prosecutorial District 3, the
Penobscot County Sheriffs Office, Partners for Peace, and Safe Voices have collaborated to apply for
an FY2018 Improving Criminal Justice Responses Program grant. Because the grant application
needed to be submitted prior to the Council meeting, the City Manager executed a Memorandum of
Understanding between the parties.
The City of Bangor's participation, should the grant be awarded, will be a contribution of resources
within its current activities for addressing domestic violence. The City will continue it efforts already
in place to fight domestic violence, including having the Police Department's domestic violence
officer serve as a member of a regional high risk response team, collaborate with Partners for Peace,
participate in meetings, and provide technical assistance.
