THAT the provisions of Chapter II, Article 21, Section 5.10
of the Laws and Ordinances of the City of Bangor be repealed and
replaced with the following:

THAT the provisions of Chapter II, Article 21, Section 5.10 of the Laws
and OrdIIwnae.s of the City of 9aneor be repealed and replaced with the
following:
"A. 4INCR3. Under :Gains law the care add supprvisinn of unemancipated

Human Services when parents or legal guardians c :uwt/will not
Pal fill their parental responsibilities. Ahen an uno.mancipated
minor applies for General assistance the Caseworkervill:
a attempt t0 contact the parentsorlegal guardians of the
.applicant to inform him/her of the application, action
Col the application and the parent's/guardian's responsibility
to support. Contact will act be made if the caseworker has
sufficient reason to believe that such contact may physically
endanger the minor; and
b. , the Department of guian Services Child Protective Services
will be notified by the c -corker in .ariting that the minor
may be living in circumstances which are seriously jeopardizing
the health and, welfare' of the minor (22Wt9A e37J2 ).
'Ginors will be expected to comply with all eligibility requirements
set forth in this ordeniance.
Nothing in this section may permit the City of Ganger to deny
assistance to an ntherwiso eligible minor when there is any dispute
regarding parental or 0epartment of Human Service responsibility."
