Item No. 3, Zoning Amendment Chapter Vlrl, Article 23, Section
"'-- 3A - Certificates of Occupancy.- City of Bangor -
C.O. g 89-121
a. The proposetl -amendment is to the Certificate of Occupancy sec-
tion which deals with when a "C of 0" is required.
b. The proposed amendments would be viewed as basically a
"housekeeping" item and proposes no major changes to the
Certificate of Occupancy section.
Item No. b: Official Map Amendment - Addition of a Portion of
Hildreth Street - City of Bangor - C.O. p 89-119.
a. The proposed amendment to the Official Map is to add approxi-
mately 1,100 feet to Hildreth Street North. The Board may
call there is a proposed subdivision to be located off Hil-
dretb Street North of which a portion is presently
unaccepted. -
b. The City's Official Map is a document which indicates i
plan form, the location of streets, parks, and other fea-
tures. The Official Map does have legal status as the City's
plan for future streets. The Zoning Ordinance prohibits c -
struction which is not in conformance with the Official Map.
.Each time the Planning Board approves a subdivision plan the
streets are added to the map a "proposed streets". Whenthe
construction is complete and the streets are accepted as pub-
lic r
c ways the map is adjusted accordingly.
C. The present request is to change 1,100 feet of roadway from
an unaccepted street to an accepted street. In this case the
Cityw
owns the right-of-way but until n saw n need to6
accept the full length. Given the potential development an
each side of Hildreth Street North the City now is taking
action to accept the remainder a a public way. In addition
to the Planning Board's action the City Engineer will hold a
public hearing (in accordance with State Statute).
d. Staff would recommend that the Planning Board make a favor-
able recommendation to the City Council.
