Item/Subject: Authorizing a Request for Proposals from Snfilco Deg[emont, Inc.
Secondary Treatment Facilities
Responsible Department Engineering
Commentary:
The City submitted a report on alternative treatment processes to DEF on the
lar of January which recommended the AEF process for the expansion of the
secondary treatment plant. Snfilco ➢egre tholds the patents on portions
of the equipment included in this process, and this Order would authorize
Nem to proceed, at n cost to the City, to develop a re definitive
estimate of cost and a schedule for completion.
The second Phase of the process, involving design and the negotiations of a
construction contract, my not necessarily involve IDI_
It is imperative that we proceed rapidly on this. project to stay within our
time schedule for the completion of secondary free red at facilities.
