'cridley Street Associates (Albert Snare and George Gillis)
has an Option Agreement with the City for the purchase and develop-
ment of City -owned property located between Newbury and Boyd Streets
(between St. John's Church on York Street and the former Vfner Shoe
factory on Hancock Street). The Option requires Gridley Street
Associates to develop 32 apartments containing not less than 64,000
square feet of floor area at a minimum direct construction cost of
not less than $1,800,000.
The Option also requires. the Developer to submit preliminary
plans for approval by the City Council. The preliminary plans have
been submitted and were
reviewed by the Community and Economic
Development Committee atits on January loth. The Committee
votedto recommend that the City Council approve the preliminary
plans as submitted.
Approval of the preliminary plans will allow the Developer to
proceed with the development of flnal.plans with confidence that the
final plans will be approved if they are developed in conformance
with approved preliminary plans.

RzWLVBD. THAT WHEREAS, Pursuant to the Option Agreement between
the City of Bangor and Gridley Street Associates dated October 3,
1988, preliminary plana for the development of City property located
bStween Boyd and Newbury Streets have been submitted for City
Council consideration and approval; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary plans have been reviewed by
the Community and Economic Development Committee and have been found
to be in conformance with the provisions of the Option Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the preliminary
plans submitted by Gridley Street Associates prepared by
Webster/Baldwin/Rohman/Day/Crarniecki, P.A., dated January 3, 1989,
copies which are on file in the office of the Department of
Community and Economic Development, are hereby approved.
