Miller, Esq. City Solicitor Town Office 73 Harlow Street Bangor, Maine 04,101 Re: Town: Bangor PIN: 1833.00 Location: Bulls Eye Bridge Dear Mr. Miller: 90-355 This letter is in response to your recent inquiries concerning the City of Bangor's share of the cost of the Bulls Eye Bridge project. The City's contribution shall be 35.384% of the actual cost of the sewer location work made necessary by the bridge construction project. The Department will reimburse the city for the remaining 64.616% of the cost. This coat split reflects the ratio of sewer work within existing highway right We of way and s work withinr the taking area for the new highway right of way. As previously explained to you, this allocation of coat is used by the Department throughout the state for highway projects. The City of Bangor is not being asked to do anything differently than what is expected from each. town in the state. Another issue which has recently arisen is whether or not the City of Bangor must obtain its own Department of Environmental Protection permit for the sewer work. Since the Department would like to have this work done, and time is of the essence, would propose that the city do its sewer work under the Memorandum of Understanding developed by the Maine Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Protection. In order for the city to come under this memorandum it will have to agree that the wetlands work in connection with Robert E. Miller, Esq. June 15, 1990 Page 2 this project shall be under the direction and supervision of the Department. A copy of the memorandum Is enclosed for your review. If this proposal i satisfactory to the city, would you or the appropriate official, indicate acceptance of this proposal in writing. Sincerely yours, v4lcrµ Richaid A.
