Item/Subject: ACCEPTING CITY ENGINEERS REPORT - PINAL COSTS OF SYLVAN ROAD
SEWER EXTENSION
Responsible Department: Engineering Department _
Commentary: This report covers the actual cast of the extension of the sewer
n Sylvan Road, as originally petitioned for by Darling's. Since the total
actual cost of the project was less thaftithe estimate, and since Darling's
previunded their share of'50%:.of; the total ¢stinted coat, than a refund of
50E:of the undercut is justified.

CITY OF BANGOR 90-66
Engineering Department
To the Municipal Officers:
Reference is made to City Council Order No. 87-235 passed June 23, 1987,
authorizing the extension of sanitary e n Sylvan Road, as petitioned for
by Darling's to serve a new automobile dealership and other vacant subdivision
lana.
The project consisted in the installation of 1,270' of eight inch pipe and
four manholes, extending westerly on Sylvan Road from the existing Penjajawac
Sewer. The total cost of the swat installation was $25,976.69, which amperes
favorably to the original estimate of $28,000.00.
The original agreement provided that the City would pay 50%, or $14.000.00,
subject to the prepayment of the private share by Darling's. Since the total
actual cost was lees than the original estimate, the 50% share to be paid by
Darling's would be reduced to $12,988.26, thereby justifying a refund to Darling's
in the mount of $1,011.16. Since the mower project has been satisfactorily completed,
it is recommended that the reimbursement be made.
Plan showing the as -built installation of the sewer are on file in the
Office of the City Register.
Respectfully submitted,
Jahn T. Frawley
City Engineer
