Item/Subject Adopting Procedure for Declaration of Local Emergency
under Federal Emergency Management Act and 37-B M.R.S.A, yy 701 at s
Responsible Department Fire
Commentary:
The availability of. Federal, State and private agency relief
assistance in the event of a local emergency is triggered by
issuance of a declaration of local emergency by the local
governing body. This Order would establish a procedure for
issuing such a declaration, including a procedure for issuing
a temporary declaration in the absence of the City Council.
