Authorizing Execution of an Agreement with Jensen, Baird, Gardner & Henry to assist with a Property Tax
Abatement Request of Bangor Mall LLC - 663 Stillwater Avenue
Bangor Mall LLC, owner of property operated and known as the Bangor Mall, has requested an
abatement of FY 2018 taxes. Issues regarding valuation of regional mall properties are unique and
an abatement request may require considerable time and a certain level of expertise. Given the
complexity and uniqueness of these facilities, the Assessor recommends that it would be in the City's
best interest to contract for specialized assistance. The estimated costs that may be incurred
through June 30, 2018 is $10,000. If additional work will be required, funding will be requested as
part of the FY 2019 budget process. This Order authorizes the City Manager to transfer funds to the
Assessing Department budget from FY 2018 General Fund savings.

Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that,
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Jensen, Baird, Gardner & Henry to assist
with a property tax abatement request of Bangor Mall LLC and to utilize FY 2018 General Fund savings up to
$10,000 for this purpose.
