b. This Proposed addition to the C-2 special exception use
consistent with the Proposed Uses allowed in the Shoppingis
o
and Personal Services District, the C-2 equivalent in the
City's Proposed Land Development Code.
C. Hotels and motels are
currently allowed in the C-2 zone;
however, over the past few years there has been a number of
inquiries regarding the changing of the building envelope to
allow greater variety and m creative hotel designs.
Currently, theree
a number of individuals who have ex -
Pressed interest ibhigh rise hotels. However, due to the
uncertainty of exactly when the new ordinance would be ap-
proved, did not want to wait.
d. Staff feels that a high rise hotel which meets the above
standards would not create more
impact than those hotels
r
which are currently allowed in theu
C-2 zone. In atltlition,
as s
special exception u a applicant Proposing a high
Chse hotel would have to meet the additional standards of
VIII, Art. 22, Sec. 2, to ensure that there 1 signif-
ant impacts o Surrounding u Staff would recommend
that the Planning Board r end the amendment contained in
C.O. #91-272 to the City Council.
