Item No. 91-261Fem/SubjecC Directing City Engineer to DiscStreetResponsible Department: Engine ing
Commentary:
The adjacent property oxn s have previoufar the diiitinuance of the Enfield Street right-of-wbetween theirproperties and rhe easterly boundary of GField. As a
alternative. they have requested that the City improve the right-of-way
by installing a drainage System to prevent the occasional flooding of
their property, and that trees be planted to provide a suitable buffer
between their property and Garland Street Field.
Since the right-ofway serves no useful purpose to the City. and since
it has actually been legally discontinued by the failure of the City
to maintain it as a public way. and whereas a diacont Incomes will
cult in the reversion of one-half of the right-of-way to the Garland
Street Field property with the remainder to revert to the abutting
property a s
, it i ended that the completion of the formal
discontinuanceis the most practical way to remove the Enfield Street
right-of-way from the Officlal City Map as an unaccepted street.
