Department: Community and Economic Development The Bangor Lodge of Elks No. 244 is interested in using a parcel of city -owned land on the Odlin M. in order to relocate a sign and use for temporary purposes, such as recreation and parking during events. The Community and Economic Development Committee approved the license agreement at their meeting on June 3, 1991 with an amendment that the Conaiittee review and approve the design of the sign before it is installed. During their meeting the Committee also reviewed the design of the sign and approved it. Bolduc, c music Development Officer, Dept. of Community antl E n c Development Date: June 3, 1991 Subject, License Agreement with the Bangor Lodge of Elks No. 244 The Bangor Lodge of Elks No. 244 is interested in using a parcel Of city owned land on the Odlin Rd. in order to relocate a sign, and use for temporary purposes, such as recreation and parking during events. After discussion with the Airport manager and Assistant City Solicitor, the Elks' have accepted a license agreement which would allow their use of the parcel. Specifically , the Elks Lodge would be allowed to use the parcel for the following purposes only: 1. To locate a sign or signs, in compliance with all applicable City ordinances, indicating the location of the Elks' Lodge or advertising public events. - 2. To accommodate overflow parking in connection with public or membership events held at the Elks' Lodge premises in compliance with any applicable site development standards. 3. For general recreational purposes in connection with Elks -sponsored or Elka-conducted events. The agreement would be for an indefinite period and could be altered or terminated by the City at any time. No permanent improvements could be made without approval of the City. The Elks' have agreed to maintain the lots including mowing and removing debris. The Elks' have agreed to obtain general liability insurance coverage in the amount of $300,000 'per person/ $300,000 per occurrence and indemnify and hold the City ,harmless for all claims. The license fee for use of the lot would be $1.00 per year. Enc.
