Stephen King has offered to donate an additional $50,000.08 to the
City of Bangor, for the purchase of backstops, playing equipment
Red maintenance equipment for the Rayford Park Baseball Field
project. The attached Order uvuld formally accept the gift, and
authorise its expenditure by the City'sPurchasing Agent for the
'purposes stated.

ORDERED,
THAT
WHEREAS, By Council Orders Nos. 91-273, dated July 8, 1991; 91-302,
dated August 5, 1991; and 92-49, dated December 12, 1991, the City
Council has accepted a generous gift of a baseball field and
grandstand from Stephen Hing, to be constructed in the City's Hayford
Park; and
WHEREAS, Construction of the project is well underway, currently
entering its final phase; and -
WHEREAS, Stephen Ring, in addition to his previous donations, has
offered to donate $50,000.00 to the City of Bangor to fund the
purchase of equipment necessary for use and maintenance of the
project once completed,
NOW, THEREFORE, By the City Council of the City of Bangor, be it
ORDERED,
THAT the City Council of the City of Bangor hereby authorizes the
City Purchasing Agent toaccept said $50y_000,00 to be donated by
Stephen Hing, and further directs that thedonatedfunds shall be
expanded in accordance with the donor's intent, for the purchase of
equipment necessary for use and maintenance -of the Hayford Park
baseball field and grandstand. it is further directed that final
selection of the equipment to be purchased shall he made by the
Purchasing Agent in consultation with Stephen Hing and the City's
Director of Parks and Recreation. The Purchasing Agent shall waive
the City's regular purchasing procedures to the extent necessary to
accommodate the donor's wishes with respect to selection of the
equipment to be purchased.
