Sias paid off in full amounts owed to the City of Bangor on tax account no. RE 60533 located at 176 Fountain Street, by virtue of a matured real estate tax lien recorded by the City in My, 1990. No quitclaim deed was issued, however, because the Siases neglected to pay the City's additional $50.00 quitclaim dead fee. Prior to August 1992, Kr. and Kra. Sias had sold their property to John N. and Susie R. Vogell. In September, 1992, Peoples Heritage Bank obtained a foreclosure judgment against the Vogells under a mortgage they had given at the time the property was purchased by them. On Peoples' request and upon payment of the $50.00 quitclaim deed fee, the City Finance Director executed and recorded a Municipal Quitclaim Deed, copy attached, to enable the property sale to close on the originally scheduled date. This Order would ratify the Finance Director's action. The Council should be aware that the purchaser of the property concerned 1s Assistant City Solicitor Bruce Shibles. ORDERED, THAT The action of .John Quartararo, Finance Director, in executing a Municipal Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest of the City of Bangor in real estate located at 176 Fountain Street in the City of Bangor to Peoples' Heritage Bank, is hereby ratified and affirmed. A copy of said Municipal Quitclaim Deed is attached to this Order, and is incorporated herein by reference. Quitclaim Deed Reel Estate Located ., at 176 Fountain Streeq,r,, o Aesignedw �ccouncilman MUNICIPAL ODITCLAIM DEED 93-389 The CITY OF BANGOR, a body corporate, located at Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, for consideration paid, releases to PEOPLES HERITAGE SAVINGS BANE, a Maine banking corporation located at Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, as successor in title by foreclosure to John M. and Soule W. Vogell, successors in title to Charles M. and Anne T. Sias, all its right, title and interest in certain property located in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, more particularly described as follows: Real estate located at 176 Fountain Street in said Bangor, and further described in Volume 1965, Page 386 and Volume 4451, Page 160, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Being the same premises acquired by said City of Bangor (by John G. Field, Deputy Finance Director) for unpaid taxes assessed for the year 1990 by virtue of an undischarged tax lien recorded in the Penobscot Registry of Deeds in Volume 4648, Page 350. The purpose of this deed is to release any interest the City may have in the above-described property by virtue of unpaid taxes assessed for the tax year 1990. The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be sealed with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by JO QUARTARARO, Finance Director, thereunto duly authorized, this day of May, 1993.
