The computer concerned was part of a larger Beizure in connection with a distribution of marijuana cases. The City has previously received title to an automobile, forfeited funds, and other Property seized as part of this particular investigation. The computer equipment is being processed separately because the former owner bad contested whether it was subject to seizure. That question was decided by Order. of Sueprior Court Justice Andrew Mead entered February 5, 1993 in docket no. CV -92-140. By prior agreement with the Penobscot County District Attorneys, office, the computer equipment represents the DA's portion of the total seizure.
