FIRE DEPARTMENT
Da"11 I. Webb. ADiAInt Chief
JANUARY 11, 1993
TO: GARY JEWELL, TRAFFIC 6 PARKING ENFORCEMENT
FROM: CAPTAIN RONALD BRADFORD
RE: REQUEST FOR PARKING RESTRICTION ON BARKER STREET
DUE TO THE RECENT INFLUX OF EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE COUNSELING
CENTER ON FIRST STREET, PARKING SPACE. TS A11 A PREMIUM IN THIS
NEIGHBORHOOD. AS I'M SURE YOU KNOW.
WE HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN CARS ARE PARKED ON THE FIRE STATION SIDE OF
BARKER STREET, THEY TEND TO PARK RIGHT UP TO BOTH EDGES OF OUR ACCESS
DRIVEWAY TO FEE STREET. THIS BAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO DRIVE FIu
APPARATUS FROM OUR BACK PARKING LOT ONTO BARKER STREET, WHICH WE
FREQUENTLY FIND IT NECESSARY TO DO.
I WOULD ASK THAT YOU AUTHORIZE AND POST A "NO PARKING" ZONE, EXTENDING
FROM THE DOWN HILL EDGE OF OUR BARKER STREET ACCESS DRIVEWAY FOR A
DISTANCE OF 25 FEET T014ARD MAIN STREET. ON ]UST THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SIDE
OF BARKER STREET. THIS WOULD MARE IT ALI4AYS POSSIBLE TO ACCESS THE STREET
WITH OUR FIRE APPARATUS.
YOUR COOPERATION 6 HELP IN THIS MATTER WILT. IF f, GREATLY APPRECIATED
CAPTAIN 0.0NAL0 A. BRADFORD
